Well...I have a huge testimony of fasting! :) This week we fasted for new investigators and they practically like fell in our path....
So first miracle find was Steve...so we are sitting in the institute teaching our recent convert Steven when the office lady walks in and says hey I have this guy that is asking a bunch of questions...can he come in and sit in on the discussion so we of course said yes! So he did...and he had tons of great questions! So we switched numbers and it was great!
Second we are teaching this girl, Meg, from Brazil and we saw her walking along out on campus and so we stopped her and her friends for France was with her! So invited both of them to institute that night and after Audrey, the friend, really liked it and said she wanted to learn more! :) Audrey is the most beautiful person with a French accent! We talked for a while after institute about accents and laughed really hard! It was the greatest!
Then we talked to this girl Alijah and had a lesson with her that night and we taught about the nature of God and the Atonement and it was such a good lesson! So we asked her when we could meet again and she said...tomorrow? It was wonderful! She is soo nice!
Then we talked to this guy Todd last week and called him this week to set up an appointment! Well he text us and said he had an accident and he might have to get surgery but he will see if he can still come...WHAT? So he shows up anyways on painkillers with his arm in a huge cast....he split open his hand and showed us these pictures and oh my goodness it was bad! Well...half way through the lesson his eyes start rolling back in his head and he looks REALLY out of it! we were like uhhh and we will end there for today...are you sure you can make it home safe??? Hopefully he did! He was walking...but his answers were really good for being on painkillers!!!
Then we taught Martin this week and oh my goodness he is my FAVORITE! :) He decided that he wanted to be baptized
on December 27th! Which is a ways away and he might want to push it up at the end of the lesson he said "one of the reasons I don't want to be baptized is because you guys will stop teaching me..." It was soo sad! We were like don't worry Martin that is not what happens! We will teach you for a year after you are baptized! So after that he was like I will pray again and see if that is right!
Then we taught taught Thien and he had all kinds of questions about Jesus Christ and if we was walking around a lot how did he have money to eat? Was his wife okay with that? When did he sleep? Such good questions....he gave us Popsicles at the end of the lesson! He also gets us food! It is the greatest!
Tuesday we had Mission Leadership Conference! SO great to see everyone! Sister Brems is not frozen in Petoski and Sistser Carter is just as great as ever!
So
Saturday night we walked down Grandriver st. in the middle of Frat houses to go to dinner with a member...and oh. my. gosh. IT WAS CRAZY! So many people passed out drunk. So many cops trying to break up the parties. SO MUCH CRAZINESS! We might have sang "Oh Babylon! Oh Babylon! We bid thee farewell....we are going back to our apartment in safety to dwelll..." as we were walking home...haha! I am sooo grateful for the gospel! :)
Last night Sister Rogers and I were just sitting on the couch and we started talking about our missions and what they have meant to us...and I realized that I had no words to describe how I felt about my mission! I don't think I would be where I am out with out it...actually I KNOW I wouldn't be where I am at with out my mission!! My whole perspective about life, myself, the Gospel, and even other people have changed! EVERYTHING has changed! It is crazy as I thought about who I was, what I did, what I said, and everything else I did before my mission I realized that everything is completely different! Haha...oh how that makes me happy :) I love missions!
Much Michigan Love,
Sister Oswald
Sorry I forgot my camera! No pictures this week!
