I love missionary work. A lot.
I will start at the VERY BEST....
HAYDEN,
MACKENZE, AND SCOTT were all baptized this week! It was soo wonderful!
President and Sister Jacobsen fit it into their CRAZY schedule and they
brought Sister Rogers....we may or may not have cried a little bit when
we saw each other...
I also had the opportunity to speak at
the baptism too! Which was soo wonderful! I have learned to love public
speaking...not TOTALLY yet...but better than before. It was sooo great
to be able to stand there and look at all of them in white! Such a
wonderful spirit. I just loved being there with everyone and it was good
to see President and Sister Jacobsen! I miss being so close to them in
Lansing! It was like seeing family! I love them very much! It was a good
Saturday! :)
Then Sunday I had the opportunity to speak in
church! :) So it was quite funny Brother Howard, 1st counselor in the
bishopric, came over to ask one of the elders to speak and so noticing
this I busied myself talking to someone and then he looked at me saw
that I was busy and asked my companion to speak....whew got out of
it....so I thought...then the night before he lets me know "so our
speaker cancelled I need you to talk tomorrow..." yeah don't throw your
companion under the bus. #lessonlearned but it turned out good I had a
good time preparing for it and gave dad a big shout out! Haha! I talked
about how our thing was to serve with no regrets and then compared it to
life and how we can have a no regrets life and then tied it into Mosiah
3:19
concentrating on 1. yielding to the enticings of the Holy Ghost and 2.
putting off the natural man and becoming a saint through the atonement
of Jesus Christ! Then I read part of Dad's Christmas letter :) So there
ya go Dad...Bay City ward knows you.
This week we also
taught Patty! She is an older lady and is my favorite! :) She called and
was sick and had to cancel our lesson but I was not about to let that
happen! Haha you don't just cancel!! So I asked her if she wanted a
priesthood blessing and she said that sounded great! So we went over
there and she got a blessing and the people we brought were soo
wonderful! The spirit was very strong! She had a son die a year ago and
it has been very hard on her but as we teach the the Plan of Salvation
you can see the hope come back in her eyes! Makes me thankful I grew up
with it!
We also taught a Lutheran Pastor that made me thankful for the gospel. He was very nice though.
We
do this thing called food of faith in Bay City and it was soo
wonderful! We make a meal and people that need a meal can come there! I
met so many truly great people! It was a blessing to be a part of it! :)
I love the gospel soo much! It truly is the BEST thing I
have ever had in my life. It has truly made me soo happy! Happier than I
have ever been! I was sitting at the baptism Saturday and I just
started crying...probably a little bit too much ha! But I just felt such
a complete feeling is the best way I can describe it. The joy that
comes from this church is complete and whole. I know with all my heart
that this is the only thing that can make you whole if you let it!
Thanks for all your love and support! I do appreciate it! :) LOVE YOU ALL!
Much Michigan Love,
Sister Oswald
