So the e-mail that I sent about five minutes ago has all the details but....wow...okay....so where to start! So much has happened this week it feels like a month....
So yeah Sister Thornock is now companions with Sister Guest and as Sister Brems and I prayed about this change we realized....GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS! We were in a trio because Sister Thornock need to go with Sister Guest! or Heavenly Father thinks I can't handle trios...haha I am only in trios for about half a transfer....who knows anymore...I have just decided to leave everything up to the Lord and I will just what he wants me to do...
This week we had a member refer us to one of her SUPER SOLID friends! It was the GREATEST thing ever! We taught Valerie for the first time and it was so spiritual! We talked about the atonement and God's love for her! Two of my very favorite things to teach about and then we talked about the promise we make at baptism and asked her if that was a promise she want to make and she thought about it for a minute and then said...yeah that is something I want to do! and we committed her to baptism forOctober 18th! Yay! Valerie is so wonderful!
Then we taught some Jehovah Witness....that was cool....wow I am sorry this week was ABSOLUTELY INSANE...I completely don't know what happened!
Friday I woke up and a little prompting came to me that today was going to be a special day! Haha what a random day to have a special day....but it was! Everything was perfect! Our lessons were great! Steven a recent convert in our ward told us this really cool story about finding lucky pennies and I walked around the corner after that lesson and saw a heads up penny laying on the ground....weird! haha! Heavenly Father is so good to me! :)
Saturday was GAME DAY! and also me birthday! Haha we usually try VERY hard to avoid campus that day but Thien (he is from Vietnam) wanted to meet at Wells halls so we had to be brave and walk through campus to get to wells hall! IT. WAS. CRAZY. Everyone was drinking and wearing....almost nothing! And there were like three people throwing up in the bushes and stumbling because they were so drunk....my goodness it was crazy! I felt like a stripling warrior walking through all of that! We finally got to Thien and taught a lesson about Jesus Christ! It was a bit of a struggle because he speak VERY little english...so we decided to go through Jesus Christ's life and show a video about his birth! So we pull up the video and watch it and after it is over Thien looks at us and says..."uhh no" haha he didn't get a single things from that video haha....welll....so we explained about the need for Jesus Christ and I think he understood a bit of it....haha! But he said he would pray and I wrote "prayer" on a piece of paper and he taped it above his study desk! :) He said sometimes I pray and think "Thiens is number one!" hahaha! He is seriously my FAVORITE!
My birthday was awesome! Thanks for all the sweet letters and packages! It was so great! I have the BEST family alive! I told President and Sister Jacobsen that my family was my best friends...so true! Chris, Josh, and Adam all took us out to dinner and the people at the restaurant sang happy birthday to me in spanish! :) haha it was a really good night! And then to top it all off I got to go to the women's conference! (well...they talked all about going to the temple! I wrote in my study journal..."all they are talking about it the temple...and I can't got for another six months") Who had the best birthday ever? I did...I got to do missionary work....that is my favorite thing!!! :)
I LOVE MISSIONARY WORK...I feel like a couple of hours over e-mail cannot relay to you how happy I am! I have never been happier! EVER. I cannot tell you the joy I feel in my heart! The things that I am learning! How that gospel makes everything better! EVERYTHING. Someone the other day asked me how long I had been out and I said oh almost 11 months and she said wow...you don't have much left! That was the saddest moment of my life...I was sooo sad! I never want this to end! I know that Heavenly Father is VERY much a part of this work...I love working side by side with him! He is my everything! I know that this is HIS work! I know that Jesus Christ is, without a doubt my savior and redeemer! Through him we can be healed! We can overcome, endure, learn, and grow!! And sometimes I don't even know it....God works in mysterious ways!
Love you all! You are in my prayers!
Much Michgian Love,
Sister Oswald
