Haha....so
that is not actually a thing but to Sister Jacobsen it is! hahah the
Assistants and President even agreed that we can secretly be called that
between us! So as ASPW's (Sister Jacobsen said she deserved AP's too)
we got to say goodbye to the departing missionaries and pick up the new
missionaries! So cool to see but such a long day! So we got to the
mission home at 3 ready to pick up the new missionaries flying in at
about 3:30 and we get a call from Elder and Sister Bish saying that they weren't going to get there until 10:30pm!
So we go and tell Sister Jacobsen and after about ten minutes of
arguing with the REAL assistants she figured out that no we weren't
joking and yes their flight was really delayed...So plan two! Sister
Brems and I do laundry help with transfer planning and matching up
trainers and trainees (not ours of course!) it was a really cool
experience to see how they pick companionships and areas! Then we
planned at nine and sat on the couch played Jenga, played ping pong with
Preisdent, and by then we were both really tired so we got comfortable
and were both falling asleep and President Jacobsen walks in and says
well you might as well dim the lights and dims the lights and walks over
and turns on some violin music...haha goodness how I love him! Then at
10 we headed over to the airport to pick them up! It was so fun to see
and threw me back to when I first came out...really werid! It was so fun
to see the determination and the fire that they all had walking in to
the airport! We got back fed them and they went to bed! Then Sister
Jacobsen, Sister Brems, and I got to talk while we waited for the
Assistants to take us home! So we finally got back at around two in the
morning and we all laughed because we realized that if anyone saw us it
would look really bad the assistants droppin us off at 2 in the
morning....haha! But then woke up at 5:30
and at 7 in the morning they picked us up and we got to do a little
training for the new incoming missionaries and then we had the training
meeting and got SISTER THORNOCK! Yay! She is the best! So it was a bit
crazy because we also had some sisters waiting to train in our apartment
too! but after Thursday
everything got back to normal and we got to go out and do missionary
work! But we were both very very tired! The assistants told us that we
could take an approved nap! I love approved naps! haha! My life is
PERFECT!
So after we picked up Sister Thornock we had
lesson after lesson after lesson and we were just going going going!
Which I love....haha! Since we had two other sets of sisters staying in
our apartment with us they got to go finding for us! and we were able to
pick up seven new investigators! YAY! Gosh my life is PERFECT! We met
with Kevin which is a new investigators for this week and he is very
quiet and doesn't say much or smile :(! and because of that when Sister
Brems and I met him PCing on campus I had my little faith get in the
way and when we set up the appointment to meet with him I had very
little faith that he would show! But he did! and when we invited him to
church I wasn't sure if he would come but he did and when we invited him
to that nights devotional I wasn't sure if he would come but he
did.....MY LITTLE FAITH! I think Heavenly Father is telling me
something....
We also had dinner with Chris a recent
convert! He is from china! He is my favorite person at MSU! For some
reason chinese people cannot say Oswald...haha they always say Osward!
It is so my favorite thing! So after ten minutes of Chris trying to say
Oswald we decided that he could call me Sister Ozzie! He took us out to a
Japanese restaurant and taught me how to use chopsticks! :)
We
also met with our investigator Jerry! (they always choose the best
American names :) He was soo funny! MY GOODNESS my life is so perfect! I
asked Jerry if he could ask God anything what would he ask for! And he
looks at me seriously and says....I will pray and ask how to lose
weight. Haha so great!! He also went on this rant about how his land
lord is so mean and he said "I want to say bad things to him but I don't
know any bad words!" Jerry.....Goodness I love him!
Then
we met with Howard! He is also from china! and he is the tallest chinese
person I have ever met! He loves basketball and decided to make is
American name Howard because his favorite basketball player is Dwight
Howard. It gave the Ward Council a good laugh! He is super awesome and
you can always tell when he is thinking because he scrunches up his
eyebrows and looks at the table! Haha Howard is my favorite human being!
Yesterday I got to call home (to Mt. Pleasant) and talk
to Rachel! It was so fun! I love her so much! We talked about how she
felt after he baptism and she said she was just filled with hope and a
new beginning! MY FAVORITE! That is and awesome definition for baptism I
thought because through making covenants with our Father in Heaven we
can be filled with hope and a new beginning! Rachel is amazing! And I am
so glad we got to be such close friends!
This week was filled with a lot.
Monday nights we have FHE, We get to go to institute, we have
Wednesday night activities,
Friday night Book of Mormon class and
Tuesday and
Saturday
afternoon we have English classes and appointments and finding new
people to teach in between! We never have a dull moment! I love every
second of it! The ward members are the best people I have ever met! They
are all so willing to help us out and Josh brings us milkshakes 1-2
times a week during planning! It is the BEST LIFE! We live in what is
called the living center which is like LDS housing right off of campus!
So we live in the same apartment complex as almost all the members! and
then the intitute is like right in front of the apartment so we teach
all our lessons in the institute and the mission office is moving into
the institute building meaning we will have the supplies closet right in
our parking lot! And president and the WONDERFUL office people! SO LIFE
IS PERFECT! President Jacobsen always makes fun of Sisters Brems and I
because we say PERFECT to everything under the sun! Haha we just laugh
and say "President...it is because everything is perfect!" I would like
to bear my testimony about how wonderful MSU is....hahaha just
kidding...but I do love MSU! #nevergonnaleave
Last night at
the CES devotional Elder Christofferson said something so grand! "God
gave us our life and minute by minute we must give it back to him." That
is my goal. I want, minute by minute, to give more and more to my
Father in Heaven! I owe him everything...but that is the funny
thing...the more I try to give back, the more I gain. "whosoever findeth
his life shall lose it, but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake
shall find it" As we continually serve others and give freely of
ourselves we find more substance to ourselves, we find out our divine
nature, and we find that we are molding ourselves to being more like our
savior Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ loves us so much. He lived his whole
life as to be able to make that great and lasting sacrifice. One mistake
and the whole thing was over! We would be lost and the plan would not
work. But Jesus Christ's love for each one of us motivated him to keep
going. A lot was resting on his shoulders but he knew what is goal was
and he did everything perfectly as to perform that sacrifice for each on
every one of us. I thank him with all my heart. I love my savior Jesus
Christ and I am so happy to have this opportunity to share him and the
life he led with others! What a great calling placed on my shoulders, I
feel unfit and under qualified everyday! But through my Father in
Heaven's help and fully relying on him I can be qualified and can be a
tool in his hand. My heart is full and everything is completely
P-E-R-F-E-C-T.
