School has finally started! Yay!! Campus is CRAZY right now! Hoorah for PCing! It is a golden time!
So with that we were also able to teach Rachel every day this week. Then she proceeded to tell us she wanted to be baptized
September 13th.
She is sooo amazing it is unbelievable! :) She has already read the
whole gospel principle book and every time we go to teach her something
she has already studied about it, prayed about it, and already is living
it. So...there goes our job! haha! Oh and she is talking to her family
about it and her mom wants to meet with missionaries up in the UP...

Then we met Bob. Bob is our new Chinese investigator. He goes
by Bob as his new American name! We met him walking with his bike and
he told us that he had just come from China two days ago! He didn't know
any English....SOOOO....back track to that morning! I am getting ready
to head out the door and I look at a Chinese Book of Mormon and think
yeah...I need that! And I marked one of my favorite scriptures in it! So
here I am walking around on campus with a Chinese Book of Mormon and a
English Book of Mormon...not a big deal! and we meet Bob and we start to
talk to him annnnnddddd...empty look! Haha! So I remember my chinese
Book of Mormon pull it out and he looks at it and he says "CHINESE!!!"
Haha never was there such happiness! So he read it and nodded his head
and we were able to tell him who we were and what we do and schedule a
time to meet! He kept saying "oh good" and then when we asked him for a
time to meet he said "well, let me take a think!" I had to do everything
in my power not to laugh! I love Bob so much! And we had a great lesson
and taught him how to pray! He said the closing prayer and I cannot
describe the feeling that comes from listening to someone talking to
their Father in Heaven for their first time! It is connecting someone
back to their Father in Heaven once again. In that moment Heavenly
Father is very much there and listening! THE JOY! indescribable. He came
to church that following day! :)
Alma 26:30 And
we have suffered all manner of afflictions, and all this, that perhaps
we might be the means of saving some soul; and we supposed that our joy
would be full if perhaps we could be the means of saving some.
So
maybe my afflictions aren't as bad as Ammon's but missions are hard. I
will be honest! Haha! BUT the Joy of inviting someone to come closer to
their Father in Heaven brings the GREATEST of joy.
Pure, simple, and complete JOY.
