Hello Everyone!

Sunday
we were trying to find a less active family in the ward with a partial
address...a HUGE apartment complex with no apartment number...haha so
first off we went to the apartment and the door going into the apartment
was locked so the member we were with said to us okay I have seen this
in movies....and then takes her hand and runs it down all the buttons
ringing doorbells of all some 100 doors in the apartment complex...so
one of them buzzed us in :) we then preceded to knock on every couple of
doors of all our favorite numbers and the ones with the coolest door
mats...we get down to the last door and knock on this door (with a
christmas door mat) and the guy opens the door and says oh heyyyyy! come
on it!! we walked in and sat down and I looked around the walls and
there was a wooden sign with their last name on in...haha WE FOUND THEM!
sooo....we got into a deep conversation of atheism and why atheism is
the true way...which it is not! He had some very valid points but it was
very disturbing the way he viewed life! he said it is very scary and
sometimes very confusing but I am free to think however I want! in
interveiws I was talking to Pres. Hess about this and he said people
want easy! people want an excuse to do whatever they want! AND it
paralleled with on of the talks that said people want an easy going God a
God that doesn't require much....but where much is required much is
given! Eternal life and peace and happiness in this life and in the
next...I will take that over "living free and thinking free" ANY DAY! I
asked him at the end of the lesson...where do you turn for peace? and he
did not know... :(
We are teaching a lady named Tandra! She has five kids and is
so great!!! I love her to death! She is progressing and wanting to know
more about the gospel and definitely about the Book of Mormon! We laid
out the plan of salvation for her and at the end she pointed to the
celestial kingdom and said....I will go there! So...she will enter the
covenant path and on to eternal life she will head :)
Sunny...welll he actually got stabbed by his girlfriend this
week...so we haven't been able to meet with him much...don't worry he is
okay! we went over with bro diaz and brought him dinner and taught him a
lesson! He says he will be baptized once he figures out this is true!
but he loves this church and he loves Joseph Smith! so once he is
feeling better...which may take a while...he will be baptized...but that
took a whole new meaning to crazy ex-girlfriend...
so there are these three kids and they are soooo cute!!!! we
see them EVERYWHERE! I swear to you...everywhere and we always give them
Jesus pictures! we haven't been able to get a hold of their mom...which
kinda makes me sad...but one day!
Thursday we had interviews Thursday!
which is the last one with President Hess...next interviews will be
with a different President....what!? I love interviews though...even
though they make me quite nervous but they are good and I love
President!! He will most likely be in the quorum of the twelve next...he
is so inspired!
We went and visited ken and jess after that...oh my heck I
love them so much!! we had dinner with them and it was so great! they
are the best!! Ken is doing good we have yet to set a date with him but
one day! he is still going strong!! I think I laughed the whole time and
then Ken and I talked about how we HATE public speaking and how we both
blush all the time! then we all committed each other to bear our
testimonies next fast and testimony meeting...then we realized I might
be gone :( not okay....
Thennnnnnn.....we were heading to trade-off with the STLs and
this lady was sitting on the side of a busy road with her car broken
down and her waving her arms!
so we pulled over and she said
thank you so much I have been here for over a half an hour...AND NOBODY
STOPPED?!?! I was so mad at everyone in Kalamazoo! and then some guy
drove by and honked at her and I wanted to throw a rock at his car...but
sister missionaries don't do that....so we pushed her car off the side
of the road and tried to jump start her then ended up going to fill up
her gas can! then we ITL'ed her and she was interested in learning :)
funny how things work out! :)
so Friday
we had trade-offs and I love campus so much!!! I love teaching people
that age and personal contacting is so much better than door knocking!
we had so many good lessons!! even though I kinda hate trade-off because
I feel like I am just being judged on my teaching the whole time so I
just get nervous and don't say anything...bad idea I know...but I hate
practice teaching or tradeoffs for that reason because...the person
listening to you is just waiting for a mistake to
correct...lovingly...hahaha I don't know I am weird!
and then Friday and Saturday
we had conference of course!! It was so great!!! you are truly apart of
the TRUE church! it was a great way to end and begin the week! :) every
question, concern, trial EVERYTHING was answered and it was everything I
needed to hear!!! the leadership of the church is truly called of God!
and we are apart of something that is a BIG DEAL!! we are so lucky to be
apart of the covenant people!! this week was great! and I am growing to
love being a missionary more and more every day!!
I love you all!!! Hope Grandpa and Quinalee are ready to go on
the BEST adventure yet! :) I am so excited for them! Kaitlin and Ty
sound like they are doing so great!!! I truly have the best family! :)
love, sista oswald
