This week was pretty crazy! sister nuttal and I worked! well we always
work of course, but we were just going for it this week! chasing people
on buses and down the street... but we have six new investigators!!
One of them being George! He is Jamaican! We were standing on the
corner waiting for the bus and this guy walks past and the bus is
coming so here we are torn....then all the sudden I look over and Sister
Nuttall is gone! and I look down the street and she is running to catch
up to this guy! Anyways, we ITL'ed him, not much happened, and we gave
him our card with our number and then the next morning...WE GET A CALL
FROM GEORGE! He wants to meet with us NOW! So we did and he is the
greatest and gave us a referral even too! So go sister nuttall!
next we followed a lady named Shantall! We were riding the bus and
there was this lady in the back with a stroller and as soon as we got
off the bus I knew we needed to follow her! So instead of going to where
we were going we got onto some random bus...which we didn't know was
THE LONGEST ROUTE IN THE ENTIRE BUS SYSTEM! So we get on the bus to talk
to this lady and she gets on, we chat for a bit, and then she buries her
head in her babies coat and falls alseep! Then the next stop get up
and off really quickly...so now we have an appointment in 10 minutes and
we are stuck on this bus for 2 hours.....not the greatest miracle, but I
guess Heavenly Father has a reason for everything...I think we missed a
shooting or something...haha
So we had ward correlation and Brother Diaz, our war mission leader,
told us a really funny story and said missionary work is really fun when
you get into it! that just hit me! everything is more fun when you get
into it and so now I have been trying to just talk to everyone...
absolutely everyone! and really just get knee deep into missionary work!
I dont know something about how he said it just hit me!
soooo to follow up with that there was this man named terrence
walking very fast and with a back pack on so we run up to him and he
looks at us and says "no time!!!" we were like oh that's okay we can
walk with you! so here were are walking VERY fast trying to keep up with
this man! (also keep in mind my legs are twice as short as both
terrence's and sister nuttal's...so I am at a slight jog to keep up!)
and he starts into the WHOLE history of Kalamazoo....like the whole
thing! we walked for like 5 miles with him as he told us everything!!
did you know that if you go through k-12 in Kalamazoo you get FREE
COLLEGE to 15 universities....it was crazy!!!! he knew everything! we
got to a cross walk and he said welp gotta go and then left us standing
on the corner five miles from where we were supposed to be...."awesome"
I thought....so we started walking back and all the sudden from this
guys car across the street he yells HEY YOU MORMONS!? I got really
excited YESSSSSSS we ran over there and he said I want to learn
more...what?! well he is actually already baptized BUT he was baptized
in Arkansas and then left right after and never went to church! and nine
years later he is now going to come back :) kennnyyyyy....he is the
greatest!!!
We were then door knocking and we door knocked on the cutest yellow
house and she opens the door and says oh my goodness...COME IN! so we
go in and sit down and teach her the plan of salvation! she was like hey
my friend is mormon!! she is a good person! I guess I can follow in her
suite! why don't ya'll come back next week and we can learn more!? well
okay....I guess we can....haha Jaren is her name she is the sweetest
person in the world!!!
We also taught a sister in our ward's friend and she had STUDIED
her anti thoroughly! so lots of hard questions came our way but I felt
like we answered them all very well! and sister oliphant got in the car
after the lesson and said holy cow you can tell you are ordained
teachers!! that was awesome! it made me think like whoa...we are
ordained to teach....sometimes I forget that doing this isn't normal!
haha! but I don't know it was just cool to think about!! she also had
Gouda cheese there too...IT WAS SO GOOD (Gouda is my favorite...name
that movie!) next week we are going back and they are going to teach us
how to make artisan bread! ask me if I am pumped...YES!
sister stiemla in the ward taught us how to make earrings! I will
have to take a picture this week of the ones I made and show you...I
learn so much on my mission! bread, earrings, knitting, crocheting, and
even how to talk like a black girl! and maybe even something out of the
scriptures once and a while ;)
okay so saturday
night....oh boy! we went over to our investigator amandas house to see
if she was still planning on coming and her cat....WAS ABOUT TO HAVE
BABIES!!!! it was crazy! sister nuttall and I really wanted to stay but
we were already late so we had to go!!!
then the broadcast was sooo good!!! I learned so much and
everything they said was exactly what I needed! I love this church so
much! and I love sharing it with everyone!!
okay and sunday!
was just a FUNDAY! hahaha I am so PUNNY! alright, well ... we had sunny come
to church and it was wonderful! he loved it and wants to know
everything about it!!! and I sat by sharlotte in sunday
school and after she looks and me and just hugs me and says sister
oswald thanks so much for introducing me to the church! I love it here!
can you talk about everything I missionary wants to hear!!! shar and I
are besties! it is crazy how much love you can have for a whole family
you only met 3 months ago!! I just love missionary work so much! it is
fun and challenging and just so great!!! I love teaching too...like I
thrive when I am teaching lessons!! it is like handing over a million
dollars to someone and at the same time you get a million dollars too! I
love talking to people (most of the time he he) missionary work is just
fun! I love it! sunday I was talking to Shar about temples and how wonderful they are and I showed her Ephesians 1:10
and it just hit me! THIS IS WHAT WE ARE DOING! gathering together
heaven and earth... temple work and missionary work is so important!!! this
is the dispensation of the FULLNESS of times!!!! :) here we are
preparing the way for the Lord....it's not a big deal....all I can say
it do your missionary work! The faster we get this done the faster the
second coming will come! (that is probably false doctrine...don't quote
me on that)
I LOVE YOU ALL SOOO MUCH!!!!! I sincerely believe and KNOW I have
the best family out of anyone! really I do! thanks so for you do and all
your support!!! LOVE YOU ALL!
