so the highlights!!! Alright, so this week we have hooked a lot of people
with...."did you know there is a prophet on the earth today!?" people
usually say what!? what is his name? and then write it down and want to
know more!! we have been talking to everyone it is crazy!! we are
walking everywhere!! and it is good! we get the car back next week and I
am so sad because I like walking...and hopefully we will be getting
bikes soon!!! we usually just borrow some from the members or
something..the ward works it out!! thank goodness! and we added a set of
elders to the car rotation so it is 3 weeks on one week off...right as I
am probably leaving! three weeks left in kalamazoo! I know I will be
bawling as I pack! I have grown so close to the members here! they are
my family!!! sorry to say it will probably be harder to leave here than
home...mostly because I know I will come back home, but I probably wont
ever get to come back to this ward :( and also I have acquired a lot of
things while I am here so be expecting a HUGE package with all the
things I DON'T need!!
something I learned the hard way...planning using the 12 step! so
there are twelve steps we are generally supposed to use while planning
and me being the genius I am always thought well if we just plan the
things we need to real fast it is faster and easier and you still cover
everything! Lesson learned! when the Lord inspires something it is from
the Lord and you should probably do it! no matter how smart you think
you are! we have a standard in the mission to get ten member present
lessons every week...well there has been a famine...of that and
baptismal dates!! for the PAST THREE WEEKS!! we could not figure out
why!!! we did everything we were supposed to! absolutely everything we
could think of....except use 12 step the way we should...so long story
short we started using it because we thought hey maybe we should try it
the Lord's way...hahah and boom member presents through the roof and 1
on baptismal date and 4 almost of baptismal date.....moral of the
story...no matter how clever you think you are do it the way the Lord
wants you to!!!
alright to the knitty gritty! sister nuttall and I put the statement "oh it will work out!" to the test on tuesday!
we missed the bus three times only to finally catch it the third time
finding two new investigators and getting to our appointment on
time...maybe with a little bit of sweat from running to the bus station!
sure is fun in the life of a missionary!
so saturday
was the ward party....hahaha oh boy...I figured out maybe I could be in
the medical field!!! okay so the ward party was going really good they
had different days of the saviors last week in each room so we get into
the room where they are talking about the crucifixion and it was really
good! Sister Hemphill did such a good job! but we had an investigator
there who was pregnant and halfway through she turns to me, looking
REALLY sick like she is going to pass out, and says oh no....I am going
to be sick so I grabbed her hand and ran out of the room! and picture
this...me holding this pregnant ladies hand running down the hallway to
the bathroom saying "WE ARE ALMOST THERE! HOLD ON!! WE ARE ALMOST
THERE!!!" we burst into the bathroom and boom....she misses the
toilet!!! so here I am handing her all these paper towels and not
getting weezy one bit!!! :) that was a long day...she already had three
little kids that I ran around chasing and trying to get the them to eat
and be quiet so she could enjoy herself...I am never having kids! that
was a long day period...I got home and sat on the bathroom floor and
cried! don't know why but after ten mintues of that I was fine :)
also this week we met a real nice homeless man who was in need of
bus tokens! well my first thought was we NEED these!! then I gave him
one and thought well he will need another one for the ride home...so for
about 5 mintues I hesitating thinking! we need all the bus tokens we
can get I can't spare any! but finally I gave him another one saying you
will probably need another one to get home....so then we walk away and a
little bit down the road meet this lady who says oh hey I work for the
metro bus station! here have 4 free tokens!!! Heavenly Father always
blesses us for being generous!!
ALRIGHT I SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST!!! okay so we are just seeing
miracles all over the place (most likely from 12 step planning...I have
such a testimony of that) but this one IS THE BESTTTTTT ONE!!!! okay
so...here we go! so sister nuttall and I were running late to an
appointment and we were in a hurry but this pretty girl walks out of her
house and is looking at her flowers and sister nuttall and I look at
each other and nod and walk up to her!!! we walk up and say our schpeel
saying we are sharing the message of the Book of Mormon and she looks at
us and says yeah I would like to learn more so we set a return
appointment for the following day and as we are leaving she says I am
really glad I walked out when I did! so the next day we come back and
she tells us "it is weird...the day before I met you I was playing
jeopardy with my family and there was a section on religion. I got all
of them right except one and the answer was the Book of Mormon! and I
thought to myself I will have to learn more!" THEN THE NEXT DAY WE WALKED
UP SAYING WE ARE SHARING THE MESSAGE ABOUT THE BOOK OF MORMON! and then
she said "and what was funny is that was the ONLY time I had been
outside all day was the one time you guys walked by!" SO THEN the next
appointment we have we taught the restoration and I asked her will you
pray to know the Book of Mormon is true? and she said oh I already have I
know it is! she then we set her on date for May 3rd! she already knows everything because she read everything on mormon.org and 5 chapters out of the book or mormon!
Heavenly Father is truly preparing people!! He is so wonderful and
loves each and every one of his children with every fiber of his being
and with all the strength eh can exert! and as missionaries we get to
experience a portion of that love but also experience the joy that comes
from bringing people into the fold! I cannot describe the feeling to
you when someone knows the church is true and says yes to making that
sacred promise with Heavenly Father! Missionary work is so wonderful!!!
It may be super exhausting and stressful and I may sit on the bathroom
and cry for ten minutes sometimes haha but all the joy that comes from
missionary work makes you forget everything else! I know that this
church is true with all my heart!! the blessings that come from the
gospel are immense and must be shared!!! people don't even know there is
a prophet on the earth or that the priesthood is restored...how sad :(
it is our jobs as covenant people and people who know that truth to
share these things!!!

LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!! It is crazy I have been away from ya'll for
almost six months!!! seems so much longer at times but so much shorter
at times! :) just know that I love you all and pray for you every
night!! I use all the things you all have taught me by word and example
everyday in my missionary work! thanks for all ya'll do for me!! :) ALSO
good luck Quinalee and grandpa!!! thanks for your amazing example of
missionary work! good luck with your mission call nick!! I guess
INDIA!!! ahh man....Nick is going to be such a good missionary! good
luck cleaning out the sewer system ya nasties....that is gross!! GOOD
LUCK BRENNA IF YOU SEE THIS BEFORE YOU LEAVE! you will be SUCH AN
AMAZING MISSIONARY!! and sammi and krista!! congrats on your ALMOST
papers in! :) you HAVE to keep me updated!!! and ashlee is getting
married...june 20th...still
in denial!! Bubs actually can't have her because she will be too busy
emailing me...sorry bubs....SHE IS WAITING FOR ME! LOVE YOU ALL AND THE
WONDERFUL DECISIONS YOU ARE MAKING!

-the weather is FINALLY warming up and I got a bit of a sun burn!
-everyone loved the Idaho pins (see pictures)
-transfer calls are in three weeks...and I am getting NERVOUS!
-john the bus driver is back from his vacation!!
-there was a huge thunder storm last night! it was GREAT!
-we met a prophet and someone from the religion of wicken
