This week was filled with hard stuff and good stuff and just plain crazy stuff! Okay, so we had a lesson with an investigator I told you about last time...and lets just say when it comes to lessons, I probably don't speak as often as I should...BECAUSE MOST OF THE TIME I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HECK I AM DOING hahaha! but we had a lesson with him and....DUN DUN DUN DUHHHH.... finally set a baptismal date and let me tell you...BEST LESSON EVER! I love him!...I don't know if i can really say that...I mean he has a wife and all....hahaha okayyy....anyways, we had a lesson and I told you he really likes facts! He wants to prove everything, and this gospel...not something you can prove...so we had been trying really hard to emphasize faith and the Holy Ghost so Sister Frei and I found like 6 scriptures on faith and the Holy Ghost and thought, Okay, we will read these and have a discussion. Then we went in there and BAM, I took over the WHOLE lesson and the Spirit was so strong and I don't even think I knew what I was saying it was ALL the Holy Ghost telling me everything I should say! And then at the end I asked him, "Can you feel that feeling in your heart right now?" And him being soooo stubborn was like "Yeah...I will be a man and admit you guys are right...I can feel it!" And he is even living the word of wisdom! Ahhh.. he is on his way to baptism!!! But man, I felt like I could do anything after that lesson! Sister Frei and I got out and she hugged me and said, "Holy cow Sister Oswald, how did you even do that? That was such a good lesson! If you are doing that at 3 weeks into the field...." The holy ghost is so awesome to tell me what I should say...hahaha :)
Then I got the package from Grandma Oswald and I cried and cried and cried. Sister Frei was a little worried but I told her they were all good tears! I put the little case on my dresser and look for them before I go to bed and right when I wake up each morning!!! I love them...I think I am a little obsessed with them....
Then there is Chris....ohhhhh Chriisssss! hahah I love him to death! He is quite frankly my favorite!!! But he is still smoking and not coming to church soo I am trying to have faith in him keeping his baptismal date but...we will see. Then Daisy and Kaelora and Mike...they all are ready but it is just hard to have a lesson with them because they are always gone! :( And Daisy is always sick! She has a seizure like everyday and it leaves her so tired and out of it...it makes me sad but she says she knows she needs to be baptized!
Then JESSICA! Gosh I love her too! So we had a little time before an appointment so we prayed to pick one house and it ended up being the one across the street and it was Jessica. Then next day we had a lesson and we asked her "Jessica, will you pray to know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet?" And she looked at us and said "I don't even need to pray, I know it is true!" Soooo yeah...she is pretty much THE BEST! Her and her son will probably be baptized the 28th...I hope with all my heart!!
Then we had dinner with Lisandra ...and she is the best! :) hahah She was talking about how she was so nervous to raise her son and she wanted to be a good mom! So of course I told her about you mom! And showed her a picture and told her how I gained a testimony from my parents always showing theirs and living the gospel! She loved it! :)
So funny story ...we were door knocking (which i am still horrible at) but this guy opened the door and looked at us funny and I just thought oh shoot we are about to get REEEJECTED haha. But I did my little "Hi, I am Sister Oswald and we are missioanries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (haha quite a mouthful I might add) and he looks at us and says "NIIICEEE!!!" like we were the coolest things he had ever seen! haha So we are going back tuesday!
And this week...I slept in....TEN MINUTES haha and I have felt terrible ever since...so moral is...don't break the rules...but really it has been taking its toll on me! This week was hard without a car because we haven't been able to get to appointments and it is just crazy! But whatever! We get it back on Wednesday so it will make everything easier! Hopefully! We have been having tons of success... I love it!
