Dec. 23, 2013:
Okay, this week wrought so many miracles (you know you are a missionary
when you use the word wrought!) Sister Leopard, she is so amazing
and so wonderful I love her so much! She is a less active and just so great! We
went and visited her Monday and she opened up to us about everything
that was going on in her life...which was a very big stress mess! So we
called our ward mission leader and he came over with our 2nd counselor
and gave her a Priesthood blessing. Can I tell you I LOVE Priesthood
blessings!?! They are soo wonderful! I would get one everyday if I
could...they bring in the Spirit like no other! Friday she went
to the hospital because of an allergic reaction, so we spent the night
in the hospital teaching the plan of salvation! Oh how I love Sister Leopard!
And Sharolette... she is hilarious!!! She was the on that came up
to us on the bus and was telling us we looked like angels haha! So we
had a lesson with her and taught the plan of salvation again and she
LOVED it! She was taking pictures of the picture we drew and writing
down the things we said... just like so into it! Sister Frei and I walked
out of that lesson like is she for real? It was so great! She is SO
PREPARED! And she came to church and just loved it!
Ken Waller, whose wife is a member and sooooo gorgeous, had a lesson at Panera
(which is now my favorite place to eat...ssooo good!) and we
again...taught the plan of salvation! I like the plan of
salvation...haha everyone seems to love it and he was so great! He kept
saying I know I need to know this for my kids and then he committed
HIMSELF to read 5 ch. from the BOM every night and he is doing it too! He told us that he really had a good feeling about us and he was so
happy we were teaching him and he was like "If you ever need anything let
us know we would love to take you out to dinner and just anything!" haha He loves us and we love him...hahah!
Keco wasn't ready for his
baptismal date but tonight we are going to commit him to one and I am so
excited! He is so great! He used to be a stand up comedian too! :) Gosh
we have so many investigators right now! The Lord is just preparing this
area so much right now! I could talk about my investigators all day because I love them soo much! I love teaching lessons so much it is
ridiculous! And surprisingly I also love door knocking...besides the
fact I had the most embarrassing door knock approach yet this
week...Sister Frei and I just decided we wont talk about it anymore
haha....
{Quick insert from the mean older sister! She didn't want anyone to know this embarrassing story, but it is too funny not to tell and someday she will laugh about it! (I hope!) Her and her companion were knocking doors and she handed one man a card and said "So if you ever get lonely, give us a call!" She said she tried to back track by saying "....you know....so we can teach you the gospel...." but the moment was already passed. She said she laughed about it and they moved on! We all had a good laugh over that one!}
But it is so fun to just pick a subject and then knock on the
door! I love meeting all the different people! We have had like 10 or
so different return appointments in the last couple of days! Which is
crazy! The district leaders are getting suspicious because our numbers
are so great! I guess they have never been this high in this area
before! The Lord is preparing this area so well, I am so grateful! I
have really grown to love this ward and they are really starting to help
out! When I first got here they didn't help out at all, but as we have
brought investigators to church they have gotten really excited! I love
our ward so much!!! Church yesterday was so great! We had 3 of our
investigators there and I loved it! When they say missionary work is the
happiest work of all they are right! I sat there with so much joy as I
watched my investigators sing and talk with the ward members! It really
was the best thing! I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY! haha Every other day in
my journal is like "This is really hard!" ... "I LOVE THIS PLACE!" ... "How many
months left??"... "I AM NEVER LEAVING!" hahaha really I feel like that scene off of Tangled...but anyways, I love you all so much! I have the best family out
there, I really do! And I have been seeing a lot of different families
lately! I LOVE YOU guys so much! And I loved all the Christmas packages
you sent me and all the mail!
Gosh I am just so blessed.... :)
Talk to you all on Christmas!!!!
Love,
Sister Oswald
